Does anyone have the part number for the prop shaft seal on the weedless lower unit for a ’66 Lightwin? I can find the drive shaft seal, but prop shaft seal (#21) is not listed on MarineEngine.com’s site.

      Thanks,
      JP

Thanks, Wedgie…so 300599 is it for the weedless, right? Looks like that has been superseded by 327031 which would be the same seal as used on the driveshaft. Does that sound right you?

Sounds about right. I got the part number out of a hard copy of the ’66 parts book in my library.

I have a sandblasted weedless gearcase that is sitting at my work waiting for reassembly. IIRC both seals I got for it where the same.

was asking dimensions in my recent post for exact measurements for the 300599 seal

They are pricey little seals! I’ve been looking around and can’t do much better than $12 USD or so each. Seems consistent with the increase in OEM prices we’ve been experiencing in the last year or so from the likes of BRP and Mercury.

300599 is replaced by 327031. $7.81 at marineengine. Or Sierra 18-2035 $6.01 at marineengine
