I use the KISS method always. Keep It Simple Stupid. and don’t fix it if it ain’t broke.

Without going back to re-read this whole thread, let’s just say one thing. It impossible to not get a pulse to the pump IF it has compression on both cylinders and is running on both cylinders. Have you checked the entire fuel system from pump to tank? Any air leak in hose or connectors, or tank outlet fitting will allow pump to suck air instead of gas.

Like Frank says, your leaky exhaust gasket theory doesn’t really make sense. Don’t get me wrong, I would never say it isn’t possible somehow, but wouldn’t bet a nickel on it…. Start over again with the basics, and don’t over look anything, or make assumptions that might not be true

Tank and hoses are brand new. I have come to find out that the pumps are bad. I have a mikuni pump that i know is good that I have retrofitting to the motor and made a nipple that screws into my pulse port. Going to try out this morning.

Mikuni pump didn’t work well but I put a Briggs pump and it worked ok. The nipple I made spring a leak so I’m going to make a new one.
