Am looking for a prop for my Scott Atwater model 497. It is a 5 hp. What year motors/hp use this bushing behind the prop nut. Looked at a possible 57 10 hp motor at a yard sale which had what looked to be a washer between the prop nut and prop but they wanted $300. I said too much and there was no fuel tank. Does anybody know if the 1960 Scott’s 10 hp used the same prop?

      Thank you for any info.

It appears the 5-hp Scotts used the same props for their 1-16 versions (’49-’52). The 10-hp prop is too big (I believe the ’57 prop is LH, anyway), but the 7.5-hp of the same vintage might work. Not any easier to find, though. I’ll go thru my stash and see if any spares turn up..

I "sort-of" went through the books. 5.5 and 7.5 take different props (diameter and pitch). That is not to say they won’t fit each other, but performance will probably suffer.
Prop shaft and prop were changed in 1952. So, 5hp Shift models through 1951 should be what you are looking for.
In 1953, the cone clutch was replaced with a rubber hub and different prop.
Just how much of this stuff can be interchanged, I just don’t know.

My old Michigan cat lists SA20, AM270, and AM271 for your ’49 5-hp.

Not doing a commercial here, but this guy lists a new SA20 for $30.
