YEARS AGO I BOUGHT A TUBE OF MERCURY ANTICORROSION GREASE WITH THE ABOVE PART NUMBER. IT IS A VERY HEAVY GREASE AND IS THE TYPE THAT IF YOU GET IT ON YOUR FINGERS, YOU JUST CAN’T SEEM TO GET IT OFF. I USE IT PRIMARILY FOR PROPELLER SHAFTS AND PROPELLERS BECAUSE IT STAYS PUT AND WON’T WASH OFF. ANYHOW, I’M ABOUT OUT OF THIS GREASE AND OF COURSE IT WAS DISCONTINUED YEARS AGO. I WOULD LIKE TO GET SOMETHING SIMILAR THAT WILL RESIST THE TENDENCY TO WASH OFF IN THE HARSH CONDITIONS PROPELLERS ARE EXPOSED TO BUT DON’T KNOW WHAT TO GET. CAN ANYONE SUGGEST A HEAVY GREASE LIKE THIS THAT IS CURRENTLY AVAILABE?

      THANK YOU

Not familiar with that particular Quicksilver grease, but down here on the Texas Gulf Coast, I use BRP Triple Guard grease on my prop shaft splines and lower unit bolts. This grease works well and provides good protection in our warm salt water conditions. Never have had a problem pulling a prop or lower unit during an annual service using Triple Guard.

I agree on the Triple Guard, but most modern day mfrs offer similar products.
