I don’t know of a specific manual for the Ranger.
There are some variations between the early motors
and post war model. What year is yours? There
is a Evinrude general service manual that covers
        all models from 1912 – 1945 in Garry Spencer’s
Drop Box in the inner sanctum but that wouldn’t
include the post war model 4407. What is it that
        you have questions about?

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

It is a 1946. I was wondering  about the point gap and the coil gap specifically. Thanks.

As far as I know, all of the OMC’s of that era set their points at .020.

What do you need to know about the coil?

              Second Buck’s reply – point gap .020.
I don’t have a spec on the coil gap but my
experience is it isn’t critical.Close but not
              touching.
Dirt in the carburetor is the biggest running
issue with the small 1 hp. Evinrude’s .Often it
comes from the original packing washer
              disintegrating.
