—– Problem
I tried to reassembled carb. The plunger CUP SHAPED PISTON sticks up about 1/16" too high. The float cover cannot seal because the cup shaped piston sits up too high. The brass cylinder slides inside carb easily after cleaning. I soaked carb in PineSol for 3 days. I feel I put the brass washers and leather washers in correctly. How do I fix it ? ? ?
—— Solution. Put the parts together correctly on the plunger.
——- Is there someone who will rebuild my Johnson, TD-20 carburetor ??? I’m not up to the challenge to remove brass cylinder, brass washers, and leather washers in the primer. Also the proper tools are expensive. Please refer me to someone who can do this service. TD20

I bought a 1/2 inch-13 tap to remove brass cylinder. If I can remove the brass cylinder using hair dryer, penetrating oil, and tap, I will try to remove brass and leather washers.
——- progress report
I soaked Plunger with penetrating oil for 2 days. I tried heating carb with hair dryer; not hot enough. I heated it with heat gun; plenty hot. Used 1/2 tap. Tapped with hammer. Brass cylinder came out. I removed washers easily.
