I recently got a 1955 15 Evinrude with the lower half of the lower unit and the propshaft and gears missing. Do any of the lowers from 10 HP models of that era interchange?

All the mounts are broken off the recoil casting – what others models, if any, interchange?
      Thx,
      Dave

Are you anywhere near NJ? I have a ’53 15HP with all the parts you need….

If I’m not mistaken, 1955-57 Johnson 10 HP and 1956-57 Evinrude 10 HP lowers should interchange, and on the recoil 1953-55 Evinrude 15 and Johnson 10 horse up to 1955. The earlier year recoil housings were more open but I believe the mounting was the same.

No – I’m in Minnesota, but thx for the offer.

Thanks for the info – I’ve got a couple of 1953 QD 10 HP parts motors – I’ll dig them out and see what fits.
