I have a couple of RD18 drive shafts that are badly worn in the gearbox oil seal area, making a good seal impossible. Has anyone tried to repair these? Anyone tried a speedy-sleeve type repair?
      Thank you.

I’ve used the speedi-sleeve method of repairing bad shafts. The only problem is they don’t give you much width for the seal lip to ride on which can lead to problems on blind hole shafts. Price runs upwards of $40 each unless you spend some search time and find one cheaper.

          Here’s a video installing a speedy sleeve.

Good video. Thank you. I wonder if the sleeve was long enough to handle the shaft movement.
