Saw this ad in the classified section.

Here’s a "restored" motor with a major flaw, and I’m not referring to the colour of the tank. Easy to spot the issue that I’m pointing out.. if you know Evinrude rowboat motors…..

That lower unit came out in ’22, as did that tiller arm. Also missing the water line. Most important is that propeller rotates the wrong way to go forward with that gearcase (unless you swing the lower unit around for reverse, in which case it will go forward).

            Mid-30s.
I remember seeing the same thing on a motor for sale at a Disney Springs restaurant and thinking "that’s not right for that motor, is it?" and looked it up. It was one of those little single cyl motors, an Ace or a Pal.

They wanted $1200 for that motor, if memory serves me.

              Harry’s got it right.

makes me wonder about how "great" the "restoration" work is if the person doing it makes a mistake of this proportion. Just sayin’……

I don’t think you can comment on sale ads. Too much of a possibility of a discussion going on? You’d have to ask one of the Admin or Mods if that is the reasoning behind that.

You can only send a PM to the advertiser if you want to respond to any ads.

I sent a PM to the seller in this case. They have received it, but not acknowledged it. I’d bet they don’t really want to hear that its an incorrect restoration. I really don’t care myself. That is all

Am I the only one who thinks the starting knob is twice as high as it should be?
