I FOUND A FLYWHEEL,(MAYBE), THE GUY ON THE PHONE SAYS ITS FOR MY MOTOR, , I KNOW IN A FEW DAYS, NO PICTURES OF WERE AVALIBLE OF IT. TO AWNSER YOUR QUESTION; IM IN A SMALL TOWN 30 MILES NORTH OF CHARLESTON SC, CALLED MONCKS CORNER. 5 MINUTES FROM LAKE MOULTRIE. BEST I CAN TELL ,YA’LL DONT HAVE A CHAPTER NEAR ME. DAVE WILL BE CALLING YOU, WHEN THE FLYWHEEL ARRIVES, THANK YOU FOR YOU NUMBER. DO YOU HAVE A TIME YOU WOULD PREFER? I DO HAVE A COPY OF 65 AND EARLYER SERVICE MANUAL. August 27, 2021 at 4:37 pm #245577IF THE LARGE END OF YOUR FLYWHEEL IS 7/8″, YOU HAVE THE SMALL TAPER FLYWHEEL. THE LARGE TAPER IS A 1 1/8″. WITH REGARD TO THE RECTIFIER, YOU CAN USE THE OLD STYLE RECTIFIER OR CONVER TO CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FULL WAVE RECTIFIERS AVAILABLE ON EBAY OR OTHER ELECTRONIC SHOPS. HERE ARE A FEW PHOTOS OF WHAT THEY ARE. I BOUGHT A BUNCH OF THEM FROM ALI EXPRESS FOR ABOUT 75 CENTS APIECE, BUT THEY’RE RUNNING ABOUT 10.00 ON EBAY. THEY DO THE SAME JOB AS THE BIG OLD WAFER STYLE RECTIFIER, BUT THEY ARE ABOUT A TENTH OF THE SIZE. RADIO SHACK USED TO SELL THEM, BUT OF COURSE THEY’RE GONE. THE PHOTO SHOWS THE RADIO SHACK PACKAGE THAT GIVES THE WIRING DIAGRAM FOR THEIR VERSION. IF YOU WANT ONE OF THESE RECTIFIERS, PM ME AND I’LL SEND YOU ONE FOR THE COST OF OF THE POSTAGE.
I GUESS I JUST ASSUMED YOU WOULD WANT TO INCLUDE THE CHARGING OPTION IN MY EARLIER POST, BUT DAVE IS RIGHT YOU DON’T NEED ALL THOSE PARTS IF YOU’RE NOT GOING TO SET IT UP WITH THE CHARGE OPTION.
ONE OTHER THING TO THINK ABOUT. THE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL WIRING PARTS ARE EXPENSIVE AND UNLESS YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT DETACHABLE EXTERNAL WIRING, JUST MAKE UP YOUR OWN WIRING ALL THE WAY FROM THE ENGINE TO THE DASH. YOU CAN PUT PLUGS WHERE YOU WANT THEM (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE BATTERY CABLES) SO YOU DON’T HAVE 15′ OF WIRE DANGLING FROM YOUR ENGINE. IN OTHER WORDS RUN THE ENGINE WIRING 4 OR 5 FEET LONG FROM THE ENGINE TO A PLUG. THEN MAKE UP SEPARATE WIRING FROM THE PLUG TO YOUR DASH. THEN YOU CAN REMOVE THE ENGINE WITH A MINIMUM AMOUNT OF TROUBLE.
LASTLY, I MAY HAVE A LINE ON TIMING BELTS AT A REASONABLE COST. WON’T KNOW FOR A WEEK OR TWO, BUT I’LL LET YOU KNOW IF IT PANS OUT.
