Hi guys, as I get to know my 1923 ruddertwin, the more I am fascinated by it.after my initial problem with starting it, I can’t believe how easy it starts and how well it runs. Thanks again for you guys help. A couple of questions, what are the Pistons made of and how many rings? I also noticed that there doesn’t seem to be any prop not cotter pin or any kind of keeper, before I run it on a boat, should I lock title the nut? I sure don’t want to lose that prop. Is there any readily available spark plug for it? That’s about it for now, Thanks, Bill

You are wise to question the prop nut. I know a member who accidentally started his ruddertwin in reverse and promptly lost his prop nut & prop into the river.

The pistons are cast iron with 2 rings each. The rings are .4061" wide.

Thanks for the info, cast iron Pistons, no wonder this thing has lasted 90 years. Thanks, Bill
