      When running in a tank or barrel, is it advisable to remove the small metal plate over the water intake in the lower unit of 50s/60s small OMC outboards?

        I never have and most of my YouTube vids are of motors running ‘In The Drum’ ones. As long as the motor is dipped deep enough into the water, you should be OK.
