Not mine but I figured I would share this.
December 9, 2015 at 6:33 pm #28280Good Lord, that is some coin for a toy model motor.
December 9, 2015 at 7:38 pm #28282Hey, It’s one of the few outboard models that’s cheaper than the real one!

December 9, 2015 at 8:44 pm #28285You have to remember that what you’re getting is a nitro burning, running 1/4 scale model built by a master craftsman. I’ve seen this fellows models before and they are absolutely incredible!
December 9, 2015 at 9:09 pm #28289Holy Smokes can you say cool! What talent that man has, very impressive.
December 9, 2015 at 10:05 pm #28292Hmmmm….. Quarter scale silver arrow… wonder how that would run on my 8′ hydro.
December 10, 2015 at 1:14 am #28304I’ve seen those models, and others that that craftsman makes, and the amazing part is that they don’t cost more. In a world of $1500 K&O models, these are a screaming bargain.
(But still out of my price range…)
December 10, 2015 at 1:57 am #28308Ted was at the 50th aniv. meet in FL. An amazing story and history he had to tell. Probably most folks didn’t notice him. Fortunately, I did.
December 11, 2015 at 1:44 pm #28404Just an FYI for you. Ted made 70 of the miniature running Indian Silver Arrow outboards and the original asking price was $1,800 as a result of the value of the dollar overseas going down during its creation. He finally sold his last one a short while ago. I have seen one sell for as little as $1,500 once, but most sell for more than the original $1,800 asking price.
By the way, the seller in the auction is wrong when it comes to the small spark plugs being included. The motor will not run on them. Some of "we" collectors purchased the spark plugs and made a fake wiring system to put on the models so that they would display more like the "full-sized" Indian outboard. Notice that I did not say "real" outboard. Ted insists that his miniature outboards are "real", but only smaller. Regardless, the motors are made to run on the glow plugs only.
