Can anyone give me any info on this motor?
Did you buy it, Chris? I saw it listed on Kijiji yesterday.
16-hp, built ’50-’53. 88 lbs of delight, 20 (or so) cu in powerhead. Takes 5MJ champion plug @ .035, 1/2 pt per gal mix, 90-wt for lower.
If you know where there’s more of those, I’m looking for side covers for mine..’
1950 model 509, or 1951 model 519 or 1952 model 3925 or 1953 model 3935. My money is on 1951. "1-30" refers to the speed, 1MPH to 30MPH. They do run like the proverbial Striped Ape, when they run.
Great info all thanks.
I never see these in my market so might grab it
They are pretty cool looking engines. Very sleek gearcase design. Lesa had to have this one! Her first engine.
I have a later version of the 16 hp, a 1955 Firestone. I am working on it now.
I love it Chris! Nice pick. Scotts and Firestones are my fave! I have the manuals for these if you need it
