I took apart the lower unit and found the aluminum tubing for the drive shaft was warn through. I picked up another one but as you can see it is much longer than the one that was in the motor. Also, the new one has one end expanded. I’m trying to find out how this should go together. Did I get the wrong tube? Can it be cut down to fit?
Any help showing me how this should go together would be appreciated.
Thank you
Bill-

The one on the top that is longer is the one I picked up. Clearly 2 different lengths so I didn’t know if I got the wrong part or not.

August 29, 2021 at 9:50 pm #245748If the new tube is the same ID and OD as the old one, I don’t know why you couldn’t cut it to
fit. Measure twice, cut once, lol.
Is there any o-rings or seals of some type that seal the tube?Prepare to be boarded!
