I’m restoring the remote tank for a S/A 7 1/2HP motor. The hose has this thing near the middle instead of a bulb to pump fuel to the motor. The parts manual shows the same thing. How can this possibly manually pump fuel in? The fuel hose is a little stiff but not dry rotted or cracked. Would like to learn how this works.

      Pic attached.
      Thank you

Can’t tell if that is a badly shrunk squeeze bulb or what. But the original squeeze bulb looked similar and was soft enough to squeeze. Should be a check valve fitting at each end.

that is correct. when new they did pump well but not now that it is hardened.

wow… interesting. I can squeeze it but it is a little stiff. Can you get these any more or is it just easier to go with a modern bulb? Was hoping to keep it as close to original as possible.

Probably at least 50 years since I’ve seen one. But I haven’t been looking for one either.
