This is avail on Craigslist near me and since I have not had my shots against the “collecting” bug I thought I’d ask (can’t find anything online, no model or serial info to go off) if anyone can ID for me? Obviously a 3hp, but year? I’m assuming it’s outside the Montgomery Wards Era?

      TIA

1958 or 1959, going by paint scheme & decals.  And yes it is a Monkey Wards, by Gale

Gale Products had some of the best design talent in the business.  Brooks Stevens was largely responsible for the good looks and color schemes of the Gale motors as well as countless other products.

He’s featured in this link at the Milwaukee Art Museum site:

                Chuck, thanks!

Lots (no, tons) of great material there. I’ve already bookmarked it on my computer and iPad so I can peruse the pictures mostly. With my luck I will fall in love with a picture but not be able to find a motor to buy…

                Thx!
