By application, it looks like this kit is what I need for my 1959 Johnson RD21 with a leaky lower unit. Can anyone confirm before I pull the trigger? Only a couple part numbers match up with what I see in my parts manual, but I’m not sure what’s been superseded over the years. Thanks!

787138909Oftentimes these kits include a few extra items to fit a variety of gearcases.  This kit is an aftermarket “Sierra” kit so it doesn’t seem any part numbers will match the original parts book.  Alot depends on whether or not you still have the original gearcase on the engine.  Oftentimes parts change slightly on newer gearcase assemblies.

The price on this seal kit seems very reasonable, worth the risk.  Try to “dry test fit” the seals prior to assembly to make sure you have the right ones…

you can contact vintage outboard… they have a collection of parts and may be able to provide the exact kit you need or info .

btw when done…. do a GC  pressure test to confirm you did good . (see utube)

The Sierra 18-2686 is the correct seal kit for your RD-21.
