This topic is about searching. I just “inherited” a 1956 Johnson 10 hp and a 1955 Johnson 10 hp. Two very common motors for us beginners. One would think that the archives would be full of questions and answers regarding this topic yet if I do a search, absolutely nothing shows up. What am I doing wrong? Whenever I have started a “new” topic the answers have been fast and extremely helpful. But there has to be an archive of information somewhere.
March 5, 2023 at 10:55 pm #273474When searching for anything, use the search box at the upper left of the Forum homepage (right below “Forums” and the box says “enter keyword”). The search bar at the far upper right of the page never seems to work.
As a trial, I just entered 1956 Johnson 10hp in the “enter keyword” box and got a number of Q&A’s.

unless something is broken or compression is real low the rest is basic stuff like carb cleaning, coils, points condensers GC oil or a reseal job if it won’t hold pressure

The search field on the front page of the site DOES work…..it just does not work for searching the forums.
I will work fine to search other, non “Member Only” areas of the site.
For example….try entering “Membership” in that field. You will see that it returns various things relating to that topic. Just not any Forum items.

Just adding ‘aomci’ as a prefix or a suffix to a Google search will give great results.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
