      I HAVE AN OLD SEARS 14.1 MODEL 574-59760 SER# 68601410-1994 . RUNS WELL AT SPEED BUT IDLE’S ROUGH AND HARD TO START. ANY TUNE UP PARTS STILL AVAILABLE FOR THIS ?
      CARB KIT, WIRES AND PLUGS, ETC..

          The 574 Prefix Sears Engines were made by McCulloch. In addition to Laings you can try discount marine parts in Wisconsin. All you may need is a good basic tune-up….clean and adjust the points, clean or replace the plugs, take the carb off and give it a thorough cleaning. You may need a bowl gasket to do that or you may well be able to re-use the one on there.

            If it was run lean by the previous owner the reeds may be burned. Had this happen to a similar motorwhen I was a kid. So if a time up, including new condensers doesn’t help, consider checking the reeds.
