      Morning,
I have a pair of Evinrudes I’m putting on the back of a PY Woody.
I’m hoping the pic I’m attaching will work.
Do I need the shafts to be longer?
      Thanks,
      John

Yes. Looks like you have short shaft (15") motors on a 20" or so (long shaft) transom.

If you have too many, AND not enough, you're a collector.

You may hear the exhausts with that set-up.
I believe you can run it as far as cooling goes with no issues. I would.
As far as ventilation, the props can be sent off and cupped to take care of that in short order. See what you have first.

No, you’re fine. The cav. plates are actually a little below the hull. Tilt the motors to where the cav. plates are parallel to the hull and take another picture. Nice shine on those props!!

Maybe my eyes but the cav plates look about 2" higher than the keel to me? Cooling wise should be ok. As Pappy said, try it and see if it ventilates or not. Probably be ok in the straights, but may ventilate in the turns.

To me, the plates look just right in relation to the boat bottom where they sit. Yes, it might ventilate in a sharp turn. You will just have to try it. Putting it down another 5" (long shaft kit) would make them way too low.

Don’t forget, the camera angle is from about 6” below the line of the hull.

                    Thanks for the input guys,
I have the motors spaced and mounted now, I’ll take a new photo tomorrow.
I have extensions for these motors, but it seemed that would make them way too deep.

I think the extensions would make it too deep as well. But it looks to me as if the cav plates are a bit high in the inside, but also the angle looks like it will need to be trimmed up a bit, and it could let air in. I’ve always started out with the cav plate as close to parallel to the hull, with maybe just a little kick upward.

Nice looking props. If you do not mind telling, what brand and size are they? Might like to find one of those for myself, thanks
