I was wondering the same thing as Rick, perhaps the gasket got double stacked, or missing.

Did you install or replace the gasket that goes in first? First the gasket, then o-ring and finally the brass bushing. Part number 304764 should be the part you need. I also believe that the brass bushing has a recess area where the o-ring sits. The smaller motors just use the o-ring and bushing, no gasket.

Yuppers, even cleaned around the brass plug.

I will apply sealer around the perimeter this evening and see how that does..

        Thanks to all

I put a ring of 3M 847 around the circ of the brass before I tap it in.

Looked in 5 different places, where so you buy this stuff????

I use Quicksilver Bellows adhesive normally..

I buy mine from the BRP dealer, but it can be had online, I think stores like Fastenall as well. Fantastic product, one anyone that works on motors should have in his toolbox.

Sealing gearcases, impeller plates, crank halves, fuel fittings, you name it.

I bought mine on fleaBay. It is very good stuff. A tube goes a pretty long way. Not sure how the shelf life is though once the seal is broken.
