Does anyone have any idea why OMC part #0303356 (parts book calls it a plate; I would call it a shoulder washer) that basically supports a washer that is up against the bottom of the crankshaft, should cost almost $50?? Material seems to be brass but maybe it is made of gold! I would bet a machine shop would custom make one for not too much more than that….and I bet the next several would be much less expensive! Anyone else out there need this part? Or have one for sale for less that $50? The part likely fits several motors, but my need is for a CD-11. Any feedback is welcome.

I can add it to your order if you want. Ill throw one in for you, how about that deal!
September 28, 2016 at 1:54 am #44836if you think you could sell it for $50 I’d say you were being too charitable! If you value it for what it is, I’m not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. That would be great! Thanks. Maybe I can return the favor some day.
The previous comment about them now being stainless steel makes sense. The one I need to replace is more than half worn through from the hard rubber/plastic seal it contacts below and the other one shows significant wear.

920-764-0501September 28, 2016 at 11:23 pm #44874Actually, there was a service bulletin back in the day, telling dealers to replace the brass washer with the stainless one whenever they had one apart for service. I guess a lot of dealers didn’t pay attention because a lot of brass ones still show up.
September 28, 2016 at 11:56 pm #44878You can get them on ebay for 10 bucks or so, but I have a spare I can send you now worries.
September 29, 2016 at 12:08 am #44881I make ’em!
It’s a bit time consuming but a whole lot cheaper than having to buy one! 😉
September 29, 2016 at 12:12 am #44883I imagine if you found 2 washers of appropriate size, you could make one by simply tacking them together, for those without the use of a lathe.
