i’m installing the coils, points and condensers on a 1957 Evinrude 18hp today, i went to my local NAPA to get some spark plug wire to replace while i’m at it and they don’t have solid copper core or tinned copper wire on hand, all they have is tinned metallic is this tinned metallic ok to use? your input is appreciated Thanks

March 18, 2018 at 9:54 pm #72685A very lazy guy (me) goes to Tractor Supply and buys Spark Plug Wire Set TSC SKu# 0236635
Contains 6 wires with 90 degree boot molded to wire. Wire is stranded copper core rubber wire.
MADE IN USA price about $15 inc. tax. All you have to do is cut wire to same length as original
route wire and plug into coil.

March 19, 2018 at 1:20 am #72710Or you could just reuse the original 1950’s wire… that stuff is about indestructible. And the new stuff isn’t as good. I’ve never replaced plug wire on a 50’s OMC, unless chewed up by rodents, cut, etc. Just my opinion!
