Out of these prop sizes (2-blade, brass) which would best suit my rig? I have a 1949 6039 and my 14′ Starcraft seafarer. Maybe 350lb with me/motor/boat weight/gas. They are: 9×14.5, 11×14, and 9.5×14. I don’t want to stick the wrong one on and over-rev or lose performance. I’m still new to the prop game and have only used stock props on all my motors so far. Looking for a little performance boost over what the stock 3-blade gives me. Also, i picked up a funky tool that I assume is a recoil spring wonder. It has Bob Kerr Marine Tool and the number 100 cast in it. Is this a useful tool to me or more of a decoration? Thanks! Looking forward to running some motors in the next few weeks. I’ve been moving for about a month and am about fed up with not working on and running motors like usual. I still have to finish my 12′ Reynolds too…

That’s an easy one. Pay attention to the prop pitch first and foremost. Diameter second.
Now, looking at your prop selection the 14.5" pitch will be the first one for you to use.
Choosing between the two remaining propellers I would choose the one with less diameter on the light boat.
Sounds like a "Tiny Tach" is in your future if you are truly worried about over-revving.

I hope you got the cheap Bob Kerr tool. There’s been two of them listed.

Ha, I wouldnt have paid either price. Mine was cheaper still. On another note, I believe all 3 props are for the big fours. Might be too much prop for the speeditwn either way but same shaft diameter and maybe they share a lower?
