I installed new spark plug wires, and reset the points, and now have spark on both plugs……now, if I can only keep gas from flowing out of the carburetor…..

Leakey float ? ? Damaged inlet needle seat ?

The float and needle on these are pretty straight forward. Just make sure the seat is clean and the float is pivoting properly and that it doesn’t have fuel in it.(the float)

Carb is super clean….no gas in float. I made an adjustment on the float. I positioned it level when there is no gas in the chamber. It’s easy enough to check without removing the carb. I’ll pull the top off the carb, can check again.

            Thanks,
            Jim

On second thought, I think I’ll remove the carb again and clean it. I cleaned the gas tank after cleaning the carb, and found lots of crud in it. Maybe some got lodged where the needle seats.

Is the filter in place at the tank shut off? Unscrew the big nut and the filter comes right out(if it is there). If not you can make one with some brass screen and solder.
