What happened to Reprotint? Did they go out of business. I have a 1956 Mercury Mark 30 that had some lower unit work done and I need to repaint it. I need a couple cans of Sand Tan. Does anyone know where I might get it? Thanks. -Spence

I believe the owner of Reprotint passed away. Try http://www.nymarine.ca for your paint

What issue of the Outboarder magazine was it that gave a lot of equivalent or nearly equivalent automotive paint colors for outboard colors? ….and then….. If you know an equivalent car color, you can buy it at the site below in touch-up bottles, or spray cans. I’ve bought from them for cars and the match is excellent. A lot of local auto paint suppliers will also put it in spray cans if you want.

Were there partners in Reprotint? It would be great if we could secure the paint codes they developed as a resource for the club. Even files that identify the various makes, models, and appropriate colors would be a great reference.

I believe Barry Ferrari was the sole owner of Reprotint, and with his passing last summer, there is no other ownership entity to call on. However, I do seem to recall he has a son that might be able to help if someone knew how to get in touch with him. Barry was a big help to me a couple years ago with some parts for my ’56 Johnson – he will be missed.
