      I am looking for a starter for a 1958 Mark 58. I have both a 58 and 59 tooth flywheel.

What is the tooth count on the starter?

          11  but I think I can use a 10 with the 59 tooth flywheel

Looks like I can buy one on Ebay for 120$.  The gear dia and other spec look like they match.

              That seems expensive!

Shops are still able to rebuild them, right?

I believe so but I do not have a core. The hard part is finding one with the large dia. gear. Also I believe the new versions are permanent magnet. They should draw less current.
