      Can someone tell me how to re-wind a starter for a 1959 12 hp elgin
      or does someone have a manual and instructions for re-winding the starter.? thanks. AL

        If I’m not mistaken, the recoil on the Chrysler outboards were based on the West Bend Elgins like yours. Ben Dittmar has a great video on them on his YouTube page:
