I received a letter from one of our members in Stonington CT telling me his collection has been stolen. Most of the motors are generic and hard to trace, but 2 are unusual: 1930 Indian with cast tank and a 1913 Speedaway.

Please keep an eye on all listings and should you spot one please notify me.

I’m sure we will have several folks looking for them on CL and here . Thieves suck

As an additional note, the serial number for the Indian may be "D01855". The reason I mention this is that the serial number indicates that the gas tank should be pressed aluminum rather than cast. So if being approached about buying an Indian, look at both tank styles carefully and check the serial number. George should be the primary contact on this motor.

We should all keep an eye out on EBay as well as Craigs List.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one thats done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.

A Bill of Sale giving make, model, serial number, seller’s name, identification, vehicle license number, location and date will come in real handy if someone with a badge shows

Keeping a notebook of purchase and sale is not something everyone does but everyone should…even though we do not want to know how much we spend or how many projects

                        George:
Please post more information on the stolen motors !! Which member, when they were stolen, etc. I have notified Yankee Chapter President Art Sesselburg so he can send out a mass email for all Northeast members to be on the lookout. We have a big wet/swap meet coming up in CT on September 10th, so will get the word out as well as watch what shows up at the meet.
Thanks for any help you can give.
