Greetings. I have 1972 Mercury 9.8 motor. Fuel connector on engine is missing. I see a bolt hole so assume there is a connector that secures there somehow and think it is that bayonnet type.

Can anyone point me to the part numbers for male and female connectors please.

I looked through schematic and do not see it.

2 sizes, small for the 3.9 and I think 4.5, but bigger than that it took the standard connector and they are all over the place.

Go here, it is the Sierra Marine catalog, on the given page it will show you the part you need.

        Hope this helps

Thanks Richard but I still don’t see how that thing mounts on the engine side. All my engine has is a square rubber piece(outer edge) with a round circle in it which is where the fitting would protrude. Behind it I see a screw recess molded into the bottom cowl.

go back to your post and look up carb and choke and you will see it there.

Well, in my defense your original post asked for male AND female connectors. lol

Having said that any male connector from the 9.8 to the MK55’s should be the same…save the fuel barb in the back.

Do you know the size of that fitting?

I am pretty sure I have some spare laying around…might even have a new one or three..

              Let me check this evening.
