      Hello,

I apologize for the numerous posts I have been starting in the past few weeks, but I have too many projects to complete this summer.

I am in the process of restoring a few motors, and many of them use a Champion J-8J spark plug.  Are there any good substitutes for them?  The motors in subject are a 1941 Sears Waterwitch 1 hp and a 1941 Evinrude Sportwin.  Another Evinrude from the 40s I have has a J17Lm spark plug on it, and those are much easier to find in my area.  I just wanted to check if there are easier to buy substitutes before I buy the ones on eBay that are original (and subsequently more expensive).

      Thanks

Typo on the title.  Should be Champion, not Chamption.

I use the J17Lm (lawn Mower) plug in all my small motors, Pal’s Scout, Ranger, Sea King Midget, 3/4 hp waterwitch, and any motor that requires a short plug because of the motor covers pressing against the spark plug boot.
