Came across a couple of parts that were made/marketed by Surf, Inc. Haven’t been able to find anything on the web about this company or parts. Figured I’d give the masses here a try.

First is a safety tilt bracket for a Scott outboard. Pretty straight forward on how it installs but not completely sure why it would be used.

The second is called a off-set connector bracket but basically it’s a steering bracket for Johnson, Evinrude and Gale. No instructions so I’m not really sure this is how the two parts go together but they "fit". Last pic is of it installed on my ’57 Fleetwin but I can’t imagine what the dangling piece is for.

      Any ideas?
      Thanks
      Kirk

The first item looks like a trailering bracket. Keeps the motor tilted and locked so the gearcase doesn’t get road rash or worse.

If you have too many, AND not enough, you're a collector.

I was born & raised in the Madison, Wisconsin area. I’m pretty sure these were cast by the Madison-Kipp Corporation, who is still in business today. Prob branded Surf to make more appealing to the consumer than Madison-Kipp. Very cool logo, would make a great T-shirt.

I stand corrected. It was a part of the old Madison Brass Works foundry, which was right next to Madison-Kipp. Is now a home to artists. https://forgeart.org/

could the dangling piece be for a push pull setup?

I think many people breathed a sigh of relief at that one.
