Has anyone used these, and are they any good?

I ran across one of these for free and found that there are rebuild kits for the fuel sender. I’d like to use it for my 54 Fleetwin when I convert it to a single line setup. Thanks.
-KarlJune 9, 2017 at 12:54 pm #59331worked fine when I had mine.
June 9, 2017 at 1:07 pm #59333Still using one much older than that one in my boat. Gas cap isn’t much to brag about. That’s ok, I don’t think I want it sealed tightly in the hot FL sun.
June 9, 2017 at 1:16 pm #59335My impression is that these are better than the "other" generic plastic tanks with the threaded-in fuel connectors.
June 9, 2017 at 8:53 pm #59365They are 100% guaranteed not to rust. . . 😀

June 10, 2017 at 9:50 am #59380If you want water in your gas, they are fantastic. See how the pick up assembly sits in a little sunken area? Combine that with an almost assuredly bad gasket and you have a rain water FUNNEL. If you are going to use that tank, at the very least, replace that gasket before it bites you in the butt. (If you can even still GET them.) Back when those tanks were popular, I can’t even begin to say how many engine problems we had, because of them. Even if you don’t leave your tank out in the rain, the ethanol gas will draw moisture form the atmosphere, though that failed gasket.
Long live American manufacturing!

-KarlJune 10, 2017 at 5:04 pm #59411Tempo has been out of business for over five years. They made very good products. Age and the new gas will take there toll on old plastic tanks.
June 10, 2017 at 5:22 pm #59414Tempo is out of biz? so no where to find a gasket. I have one and do leave it outside and it does get condensation .Any leads on gaskets would be great. Suppose i could make one, even RTV may help as a coating in the original gasket. Jim PSB
EDIT"Some people want to know how a watch works, others just want to know what time it is"
Robbie RobertsonJune 10, 2017 at 7:49 pm #59420I have found water in those tanks many times as well. Once was diagnosing a no start for an hour, until I determined the tank had water in it!
