okay guys just picked up these ticks. Four of them, I am getting infested. 1 runner, one non runner and 2 parts motors. Paid $225 Canadian for the lot, stand, parts and drawings. 2 questions did I over pay? I don’ think I did but I bought 2 vikings (pictures below) for $40 total so I don’t know. And where can I get a head gasket for the runner? It has a bit of a leak. Apparently I am going to have 3 more tics attached to me this weekend. A Hiawatha….not sure of the year or size…freebee from a friend also a 57 18 hp johnson and a 35 or 33 hp johnson runner. It is in a storage locker and the owner is not sure of the size or year for the big one. I am not real interested in the big one so I will trade it for anything smaller than 20 hp. Looking for a Chris Craft or Oliver or Merc from the same era, in particular Don’t care if it runs but it needs to be complete or very close to it. Will consider other motors of value equal to the Big Johnson

If you are happy with your purchase and they will give you enjoyment, then you didn’t overpay. Don’t worry about it. On the other hand, if you are thinking you can fix them up and sell them at a profit, that doesn’t happen very often. Hasn’t worked for me yet. martinoutboards.com will have your head gasket. It is a multi piece gasket and you have to replace all the pieces.

Your Gale Viking is a 5D10V and lots of them were made under various brand names. They are surprisingly good runners. Probably needs new coils though, unless they have already been replaced.

not in any way looking for a profit…I have not and will not sell a motor. New hobby for me and I love it…My OCD fits in real fine. Here’ my other viking below. Up to 18 motors now with three more on the way this weekend, Thanks for the lead on the gaskets!!!!
