This morning my PC just started downloading W10 all by it’s little old self. So I did a hard shut down, fired it back up and searched something like "stop microsoft from trying to force W10 on me". I have W7 Pro, don’t know who all this will work for:
click – start
in bottom, left corner box type "view installed updates"
press "enter" on keyboard – took a minute to load everything, there was a lot
look thru list for: KB3035583 and KB2976978 updates
right click each one and click "uninstall"Time will tell what I accomplished, but the window icon at bottom right of my screen doesn’t show up any more (YEAH).
May 19, 2016 at 3:24 pm #36775Stick with windows 7, 8 is not suported anymore. A freind tried w10 and did not like it, went back to 7. JMO.
May 19, 2016 at 3:52 pm #36776Since MS is giving Windows 10 away for "free" that means that they own the software. With MS 10 MS can "see" the hard drive on your computer. The software tracks everything you do on line and MS uses it to sell info about you to companies who will pay them for it. It is very difficult to turn off their spyware without being a MS expert. I have been advised not to download MS 10. If anyone is interested LOLO Software (virus protection) can identify the spyware built into MS 10 and give you a instructions on how to turn the spyware off.
May 19, 2016 at 4:27 pm #36778What MS doesn’t tell you before trying to force/trick you into downloading 10, is that just about everything you have saved on your computer will be GONE after their "great" w10 download. You know, those SOB’s track me just fine on w7, got tired of seeing that dumb b___h from progressive insurance? pop up all the time, so I just went to Victoria’s Secret a few times – now pretty girls in bikinis pop up, yes they track me well enough.

May 19, 2016 at 4:41 pm #36780I did the Windows 10 roll over when it first came out. It was quick and easy and allowed me to get all the PCs and laptops in the house on a single OS finally. No loss of data and all my periphials were supported. It s been great and a huge improvement over Vista, 7 and 8.
Every Browser Site OS and ISO tracks you anyway so you might as well make it interesting…May 19, 2016 at 6:00 pm #36785I don’t believe it, went to shut down the PC a few minutes ago and of course there was ANOTHER update. Knowing what a bunch of losers there must be at ms, I turned the pc back on and checked the update. Yep, they re-installed KB3035583. I never did find the other one to delete it, after looking at all 400 plus updates. Just give up ms…I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 19, 2016 at 7:08 pm #36787I’m tired of most of this tech stuff, including being bombarded to upgrade to W10. I can’t even check out at the store without getting madder than @#$% at the stupid computer prompts/questions when just trying to buy milk.

I was on that road also, suddenly I had W 10, lost everything, tried to install W live mail, did not work,
went back to W 7 , and with help of a friend I have all my documents, pictures and old emails back again.
hooray
what a mess
now I understand when people threw their computer out the window 👿
.May 19, 2016 at 9:58 pm #36802Okay I now understand as a Windows 7 guy that after 29 July 2016 Windows 10 will NOT be offered for free. Several tech sites have offered this info. Microsoft has refused to comment on this. Lastly I understand the updates for Windows 7 should continue until 2020, same sites. No comment from Microsoft. Vance Packard had it right when he wrote about planned obsolescence in 1957..whether you like it or not–reel to reel tapes, 8-track,vinyl (making a small comeback), cassette..etc. 😎
