Well my TN27 is almost all ready to be closed up , timed up dead on with Richard’s (F.R.’s) new timing tool 😀

only thing missing is that little round wire mesh on the check valve underneath the carb.

Is that part still available or is this going to be a home made job. Fine wire mesh isn’t something sold around here much ( I know… amazon. 😉 ..)

I found some at a local hobby store. 100 by 100 copper screen, they called it copper clothe. I have been using it to make fuel filters. . . 😉

Might be better off finding an original part. There is very little clearance where the check valve gets threaded in to the carburetor body. If you can get the solder joint flat enough it may work.

Do you have a part number? I may have a NOS piece.

That p/n does make sense. I do have that piece as NOS. I can’t do it for 10 cents, however I can do it for $3 plus actual postage. I don’t mind sending across the border.

41-31 Screen-Check Valve is the correct part. As far as I know, it was used in all of the "T" and "H" series motors. Ed has one to sell, and I would take him up on it. NOS ones are not that easy to find.

10 cents… I was just quoting the 1950’s book … it was not my asking price 🙂

                      ok here is the status….

I found some fine stainless steel wire mesh called…. "Splatter screen" 2 $"… for approx. 1 square foot at the Dollar store !

let me try my hand at it first

I snip a small narrow piece and wrap it on the check valve body with fine stainless wire… found at the arts store MIchael’s

                        update….

well…. after slicing up my stainless screen, prepping to reinstall the check valve, I searched for my fiber washer on the floor thinking I had dropped it. 😯

I peeked up under the motor 🙄 and found the fiberwasher….and screen still inside the cavity . I pulled it out & it looked in great shape. I re-mounted it after a good cleaning 🙂

I prefer this ending…. thanks Ed for the offer of the NOS screen (store it for now !)
