To Clear Coat or not to Clear Coat

Hi,  I have a Johnson 1949 QD10 That I am restoring.  Would like any opinions on if I should spray clear coat on ?  I like both the shiny look and non shiny look but for this motor, would like it to be more shiny.  I spray painted it with a gloss paint.   So 2 questions:

1.  Can anyone give me a good brand for clear coat in a spray can ?
2. How many coats ?
3. Does the decal go on after or before the clear coat ?

I clear coat over the decal.My hope is they will be less likely to peel up.

I try to use Max 2k High Gloss Clearcoat Aerosol it is gas resistant . Don’t breath in the fumes, read can. Beautiful finish
