I am being offered two Mercury Mark 6A (Super Silent Six) motors in a trade for a few newer motors.

Just wondering how these hold up compared to something like a later Merc 60, or similar. I know that the water pump is a nightmare in itself, I have a Mark 10 to deal with already.

If anyone has any experience running and working on one, please let me know!

When you are working on a Super Silent Six…..you pretty much start at the prop and work your way up.

They are challenging to get apart…..especially if they have not been apart before.

They do run very well though and they can be restored to look amazing.

People should work on a Super Silent six just for the experience.
