I have two Evinrude Zephyrs-one is junk for parts, and the other is somewhat better. Anyhow, trying to figure out how to remove the transom pads from the transom bolts, so I can exchange
the good bolts/pads from the junk motor to the better motor. Am I missing something – is there a trick to it, or something simple that I am missing?

they re likely crimped so a pry bar should do

to install them without the tool ( see OUTBOARDER) I have used the suggested method here on AOMCI

center drill and tap the shaft install the cup with an appropriate bolt with a flat head or grounded head to fit in the cup cavity .

use some lock-tite to secure the hard to tighten new bolt

        Joining AOMCI has priviledges 🙂

Thanks, Crosbyman. I don’t have “the tool”, and will follow your advice, and go after it.
