Hi,  I am having trouble pulling the one side of a 1949 Johnson QD .  Only 1 knob stands in the way of removing this side.  Do I get plyers and just turn it LEFT to unscrew or possibly try and pull it straight out toward me to remove knob ?  (I’m new at this)

      Thanks for any help

If I remember correctly a screw holds the knob on it’s shaft. Loosen the screw and the knob will slide off the shaft. Then when the side cover is loosened from it’s mounts it will come forward to clear the shaft.

Hi Lloyd, Thanks for answering ,  If I am understanding you correctly, your saying the knob has a screw , but there is no screw on the knob.  (You can see from the pic, no screw on knob)

LLoyd you were correct,  my fault, didnt see the screw on the knob until I  turned it all the way.   Thanks again

Is there a set screw on the side of the knob?

On my QD-10,  the Enrichener knob has a set-screw that tightens down on the shaft.
