Why is one set of points silver and the other gold?

What does the “E” stand for?

The OMC/OEM points are usually that gold color, perhaps the other set is aftermarket…
Don’t know what the E on the mag plate stands for….Nothing we would be able to decipher, some engineering "secret"….
