Unknown gas cap

Any idea what motor this gas cap fits? Should be from a Johnson S maybe. It’s been a loooooong time…… 😮

Evinrude rowboat motor. Early Johnsons also had the oil measuring cup, but with a different cap.

Is the cap aluminum or brass?

Aluminum means it is likely off a 1922 evinrude model K. I believe all other Evinrude rowboat motors used brass caps.

This cap will also fit the Model N Sportwin, model LA/LB Big Twin, model R Fastwin, heck I think it will fit all Evinrude motors from 1914 to 1928-29. It will even fit the 1930 Lockwood ace that used the Evinrude Fleetwin tank.

Edit – it will fit those tanks, some of those motors need to have have vent screw on them to be 100% correct…..

Roger, you’re not wrong, it does fit Evinrude rowboat motors.

And I should amend my original post to say it "could" be off an Evnirude Model K, instead of saying "likely"
