<!–more–>So I decided on the mercury mark 20 I have seen a lot on the mix and some say 50:1 (I would never do that) or 24:1 that sounds better but I choose 16:1 I wanted to insure that I was useing the proper mix but a little more information on the mercury mark 20 the person I got it from said that his grandfather got it new and had it restored in 2000 but his grandfather passed shortly after that and had been sitting in the garage for 20+ years he was asking $400 I thought that was fair and in my mind I said if his grandfather had it restored it must have ment alot to him or been a good runner my father and I get it home and I look it over and turns out it still has a factory mercury lead case pin to show that the block is still factory and I got excited I mixed up 16:1 and put her in a barrel to start and 2 pulls she sputtered on choke took off choke and she fired right up and pumps enough water where I can touch the side of the power head and it is cool I am planing on making a YouTube to show y’all this beautiful part of history
would change the impeller. the oil is 25-1 when new. when mercury came out with their 50-1 oil it was recommended by mercury for all their motors. Me i would use the 50-1 oil at 25-1.
