      Hi,

Just picked up a upper crank seal for my ’57 Lark. The original PN number 303804 was superseded to 321467 in a sealed OMC package…but doesn’t fit. The seal is too small and falls into the recess. Was it packaged wrong or is the superseded number wrong. I have cross referenced with Marine Engines…which shows the 321467 number…but I have found errors on their site too since their conversion.

      Any help?

      Happy Motoring,

      Mas

Must have been packaged wrong? What does the seal measure?

Looks like 1 3/8 in diameter

OK…maybe I’m seeing this wrong. Does the seal fit into the upper crank bearing or the crankcase/block?

I suspect you are seeing it wrong. It fits in the bearing shell.

That is what I began to realize after Chris asked for a measurement. I’m just getting back to my Lark rebuild and it looked like I hadn’t installed the upper seal at a quick glance. The large recess fooled me…thinking it needs to be filled with a seal.

                I think I’m OK
