voltage regulator gap?

      Does anybody know if there should be a gap here? If so, what it should be?

        You mean between the points? No there should not be. But my goodness, what a rusty mess. Do you think there is hope?

        EDIT: The two under your fingers are normally closed. Third one is normally open. First two are the voltage and current regulator sections, third one is a cut-out relay to disconnect from the battery when generator is not genning.

          Thank you sir, your a wealth of knowledge. I’m not sure if there is any hope at all. I cleaned up the contact points, thought I’d give it a try anyhow. I’m going to order one like you suggested. Somewhere I saw the part # for the Harley regulator you mentioned. I wrote it down, soon as I find it I’ll get a new one. Until then, thought I’d see what they look like underneath, clean and try it.
