The dates for the 2024 edition of the Constantine Super meet have been announced as July 11-14 At the American Legion grounds on the shores of the St Joe River in Southern Michigan. Plan now to attend one of the best meets you will find. Rowboat motors are being featured in 2024, although all motors are welcome as usual.
As my contribution to the meet exhibits, I am going to “ATTEMPT” to run five different Waterman motors on my boat. Separately, not all five at once. They will range from model years 1909 to 1925. What I’m hoping to do is to run them all for about 10 minutes each to show that they’ll start and push a boat around. I would start with the newest one and work through the progression to the oldest. Hopefully I can put a pit crew together to assist with swapping motors on and off the transom as necessary. If all goes well, and we can get four other boaters involved, at the end I’d aim to have all five of them running out on the river at the same time. If I can get any other Waterman motor owners to join us on the river, you might see as many as six or seven or maybe even eight Watermans running at one time in one place. If successful, its likely a scene that you won’t see occur anywhere else.
Hope to see you in Constantine.
Best,
