It appears to me that they are both 571.22 1939 Waterwitch twins. One appears to have the wrong rope sheave from a 1936. I think between the two motors I have everything but the faceplate. I understand that they are hard to come by.

Is either of the fuel caps correct?
Does anyone have some information on these motors? Pictures?

I have one Ian. I can send you some pics of mine.

I don’t believe the fuel cap on the first one is original?

I’m hoping that the lower unit from one of these will fit the Waterwitch 1937 single 571.10 that Wayne has.

I’m hoping that, too! I have very little information on these motors. I believe they have Bendix ignition. That’s about all I know. I’m sure between the two we can make a runner.

The exhaust is the only thing that’s different
from the 1937 so you have plenty of parts there.
The one rope sheave is a 1936 as you have
pointed out. The spacer between it and the
flywheel is also from a 36 and was only used
that year. Only 1893 twins were made 1936
and few survive. Quite a few parts are unique
to the 1936 like that spacer. I have one that
is mostly correct. Not at home so I can’t provide
pictures. These pictures are from the Waterwitch
website. This is probably the nicest surviving
1936 but is has a couple parts missing. The 1936
twin is the only one that’s uncommon. Later
models are not hard to come by especially
in the condition yours are in.
