The high speed needle valve (since it extends into the carburetor body) must be removed before the float bowl can be removed. If not, the needle will be bent, and be useless. They are hard to straighten properly. That carburetor was used on the Evinrude neutral clutch Fleetwin, but I don’t know if the needle valve is the same length. These are from a 1952 parts book.
