I need some advice. This one is new to me. The coil is in good cosmetic condition πŸ˜€ , for what that is worth. How do I go about checking things out? Is a new condenser available? Has anyone got a breakdown of the many, many, layers of the insulators and whatnot on the points. I am not certain that I got everything back in the correct order.

Check YouTube for Doug Penn’s videos. He has so great videos on how to test coils and condensers

Thanks guys. I have watched Doug’s videos a few times but refresher course never hurts. I guess I just don’t trust a Mercury. LOL I had already tested the coil with my multimeter and it pegged out on the wire to the condenser and read 5 on the spark plug wire. So, I guess it is fine. I used the meter to check the condenser too. It seems fine. Its charging and discharging if I am doing the test correctly. Does anyone have assembly instructions for the points. I may have goofed that up.
